JOSEPH JEMINE AKPIEYI – CHAIRMAN
A descendant (great – great – grandson) of Crown Prince OMATEYE AKENGBUWA of the Itsekiri Royal Family, Joseph Jemine Akpieyi is an alumnus of: Roman Catholic School Warri(1946 – 1954); famous Government College Ughelli(1954 -61); premier University of Ibadan (1962- 65); University of Surrey, Guildford, United Kingdom (1967 -68); and Columbia University, USA(1981.)
One of the pioneers in the public sector of the Nigerian petroleum industry, Akpieyi served the nation with distinction as the General Manager / CEO of the Nigerian Petroleum Refining Company (NPRC) Ltd (1980 – 1985); Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Pipelines Operations Division (1985 – 1988); the first Managing Director of Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company Ltd (1988- 1990); Managing Director of National Engineering and Technical Company Ltd, a Bechtel / NNPC joint venture (1990 -1991), from where he voluntarily retired after 26 years of meritorious service to his fatherland.
A recipient of several NPRC / NNPC awards for leadership excellence, he served meritoriously on the boards of the Petroleum Equalization Fund Management as chairman ( 1977 – 85); National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company Ltd (now Adorva Plc.); Unipetrol (now Oando Plc); and Port – Harcourt Refining Company Ltd. He was also the Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers’ Foundation (2007 – 2012) and SOWSCO Well Services Nigeria Limited (2003 – 2011). He is currently the Chairman of TRITHEL, Air Separation (Nigeria) Ltd, ARCO Group Plc and the Board of Trustees of PAFOTFUL (Prof. Francis Ayo Ogunye Trust Fund, Unilag) [May 2021 to date.]
A past National President of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers(1999 – 2000), Akpieyi is the Founder of TRITHEL International Company Ltd that drives businesses for excellence through the institutionalisation of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, strategic management, human resourcing; and the co – Founder of Air Separation (Nigeria) Ltd that manufactures industrial and medical oxygen, nitrogen; and supplies, instals and maintains AirSep pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen generating robust plants throughout Nigeria. Chief Akpieyi is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, the Chemical Society of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Directors.
Sosan Anthony AKPIEYI –
Managing Director/CEO
Engr Sosan Akpieyi attended the Federal Government College Warri between 1981 and 1986 from where he gained admission to study Chemical Engineering at University of Lagos in 1986
Upon graduating from the Chemical Engineering department in 1992, Sosan did his compulsory National Youth Service with Pinnacle Commercial Bank in 1994 and was recruited as a Banking Executive in the treasury department of the Bank in 1995.
In 1996, Sosan Akpieyi joined Trithel International Consulting as a Project Consultant from where he was seconded as the Project Manager for Air Separation Nigeria Limited in February 1996. He was appointed the pioneer General Manager/CEO of Air Separation in February 1998 in preparedness for the takeoff of commercial operations of Air Separation in March 1998.
In 2007, the Board of Directors of Air Separation Nigeria Limited impressed by the focused and outstanding performance of Engr Akpieyi promoted him to Managing Director/CEO.
Air Separation Nigeria Limited under the superintendence of Engr Akpieyi commenced commercial operations with a 100 Cylinders/Day Oxygen Cylinder Refilling plant. Over the past years, the Company has witnessed phenomenal growth and expansion of its activities under Engr Akpieyi’s leadership.
From a 100 Cylinders/Day (600m3/day) production capacity in 1998, ASNL has grown its total production output to a combined capacity of 1,000Cylinders/Day (6,000m3/day) from its production factories, diversified its operations into the Sales, Installation and maintenance of On-Site Oxygen Plants in over 30 tertiary medical institutions spread across Nigeria, installation of medical gases piping network systems for the effective distribution of medical gases in hospitals. Mr Akpieyi in 2012/2013 superintended over the construction of the new factory facility in Jos that houses the newly installed Cryogenic Air Separation plant that produces liquid and gaseous Oxygen and Nitrogen and achieved this feat with zero debt equity.
Further diversification of its product lines was recorded in 2014 with the installation of a newly procured compressing station for Liquid Argon within its Lagos factory premises for the gasification and refilling of Argon gas into cylinders a gas primarily utilized for fabrication projects within the Oil and Gas industry.
In 2018, Mr Sosan AKPIEYI was inducted as a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Sosan Akpieyi is happily married are blessed with three lovely children.
ENGR UBOGU Peter Chiedu General Manager
Operations
Engr Ubogu attended Abubakar Tafawa Belwa University Bauchi and graduated as a Mechanical Production Engineer in 2001.
Peter’s foray into the corporate world began in 2003 when he joined the workforce of First Aluminum Plc as a Trainee Manager and left in 2007 to join AirSeparation Nigeria Limited as a Deputy Manager in charge of Production/Technical department. He’s outstanding performance resulted in his promotion to the position of Principal Manager in 2009.
Mr Ubogu has maintained a steady hand of leadership at supervising and directing technical matters that relates to Production planning, Plant maintenance, Hospital piping and On-Site Plant Installation in many tertiary hospitals within Nigeria. His excellent performance earned him a promotion to General Manager Operations in 2017. Engr Peter Ubogu is a 2017 registered member of COREN.
Engr Ubogu is happily married and blessed with two energetic boys.
Olufemi Abiola OKANLAWON
Head, Finance/HR
Mr Olufemi Okanlawon is a 2006 Accounting graduate from University of Ado Ekiti. He proceeded to obtain a Master in Business Administration certificate from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in 2009 specializing in Financial Management.
Olufemi began his career as a Senior Tax Expert with Adewale Adeleye + Co (Chartered Accountants) in February 2008 and left to Join the firm of BDO Professional Services (Chartered Accountants) in May 2008 as a Trainee Accountant. He rose through the ranks to an Audit Senior in 2013. Olufemi took part in the execution of due diligent audit tests and system procedures of Intercontinental Capital Market Limited, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Bank Plc. He was an Audit Team Leader for small, medium and large corporations. Executed audit test to support professional opinions regarding fair representation of financial statements and conducted detailed assessments on business risks, internal control assessment for business operations, and business processes in these organisations: Spring Capital Market Ltd, MBC Securities Nigeria Limited ,Initiative IM Global Nigeria Limited, University Press Plc and New Nigeria Foundation, Crystalife Assurance Plc, KHS Machine, Nigeria Westminster Dredging Nigeria Limited.
Mr Okanlawon has created documentations for financial policies and procedures identifying key control requirement and assessment for management analysis.
Mr Olufemi was inducted into the prestigious Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 2010 and became a fellow of the institute in 2021.
Olufemi joined Air Separation Nigeria Limited as Head of Finance/HR in March 2013 and has brought his experience to bear as the Head of Finance and Accounting.
